I came across this vintage combo-organ in a used instrument shop in Islamabad. It sounds beautiful, in perfect condition, and I got for a fraction of its worth because the owner of the shop really had no idea what it was. It’s not just an incredible instrument, it’s also a very interesting archaeological find; it was originally produced in 1972 (35 years ago), and was $3000 at that time- it’s been painted red (it’s shell used to be stained wood), and most of all, it used to belong to this guy.

Since it’s 128 pounds, and it requires two men to lift it, I wonder, how did it get to Pakistan? I guess I’ll have to ask Mr. Takkar sometime.

The Most Well Documented Fatsumas Concert Ever

I’m a pullquote, a snippet of content.

As you know, The Fatsumas played at the Islamabad Rock Fest on March 11th, 2005.  So, this time, we actually had some cameras.  Here are the pictures and video clip of the show.

Rock Fest ISB

Hey guys, finally the show is going down. Make sure you all get your tix and head down to the Open Air Theater in Shakarparian on Saturday.

It’s 200 Rs, and it’s being put on as a relief effort for the earthquake victims(really). You can buy your tickets at Rayyan’s and I think Civil Junction and Illusions. They have a site up for the show

We’re not listed on the site, but we’re on the ticket. Really looking forward to seeing you all there. (We’re supposedly going on around 10:30 pm, so make sure you tell your parents it’ll be a late night!)

Open Air Theater, Shakarparian

The Fatsumas are scheduled to be playing at a rock/metal show on the 26th of February at the Open Air Theater, Shakarparian, Islamabad. Other bands are some metalheads from Lahore. That’s all we know so far. Check back for updates
