Anonymous asked: so like, do you eat pork?
If you die without ever having eaten prosciutto, I guess that’s fine, but you’re missing out
Anonymous asked: that "punked - usa" video is so dumb. they talked about you guys like you were saying the most provocative shit or something. esp when they subtitled parts of the sharia law in the usa song. jeez.
YES
duhdoydorothy asked: How do you feel about that article in The Guardian that says y'all Islamic Punks have "already betrayed your ideals"? Does it feel weird when people write things like that about you?
To be honest I only skimmed that article when it came out and missed that byline. But just re-read itand the whole article sounds dismal, especially the quote they used for me saying the whole thing was fake. Taken totally out of context, from an hour long phone conversation (par for the course of journalism, really), and omitting everything I said about The Kominas, saying we’re based in Boston and then later in the article it says we’re from New Jersey, neither accurate, all of that sucks. With this big time journalists I always feel the need to defend myself, it sucks being looked upon with such skepticism. I felt it so I played into it. Yeah it feels weird to read something so judgemental when it’s quite clear the man has no idea what he’s talking about.
Anonymous asked: How did the Kominas come about?
Founded by Basim Usmani, Esq. in 2006, broken up and reformed with various band members until Summer 2011 with it’s final lineup of 4.
